Sneakers or Heels?

by | Mar 23, 2023

Are you one or the other and can you be both? Ah, the age-old question: are you a sneakers girl or a heels girl? It’s the kind of question that can keep you up at night, tossing and turning as you wonder which type of shoe defines you as a person. Okay, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but you get the point.

So, let’s break it down. If you’re a sneakers girl, you’re probably someone who values comfort over everything else. You want to be able to run around all day in your Nike Jordans, Yeezys or classic Converse without worrying about blisters or sore feet. Maybe you’re the kind of person who spends her weekends at the gym or you would rather take a long walk to work or you just simply love the look of a chic sneaker by Chanel or Balenciaga. You’re not afraid to get a little sweaty, and you know that sometimes the best things in life require a little bit of effort.

On the other hand, if you’re a heels girl, you’re probably someone who values style and sophistication above all else. You want to look your best at all times, even if it means sacrificing a little bit of comfort. Perhaps you’re the kind of person who spends her weekends at brunch with the girls, or who likes to hit up the hottest clubs in town. A killer pair of heels can elevate any outfit, and you’re not afraid to show off your fashion sense.

Now, before you start to panic and wonder which one you are, be assured that there’s no right or wrong answer. It all comes down to personal preference. But just in case you’re still on the fence, let’s take a closer look at the pros and cons of each.

Let’s start with sneakers. First of all, they’re incredibly versatile. You can wear them with just about anything – jeans, shorts, dresses, you name it. Plus, there are so many different styles to choose from, whether you prefer classic Converse, Nike Jordan’s or trendy Yeezys. And let’s not forget about the comfort factor. When you’re wearing sneakers, you can go for hours without even thinking about your feet. No blisters, no soreness, no problem. So it’s no surprise they’re often seen on the FROW during the European Fashion weeks.

Of course, there are some downsides to sneakers as well. For one thing, they’re not always the most appropriate option. Sure, you can find plenty of cool sneakers that will turn heads, but even the fashionista has limits on when and where. Let’s face it – there are some occasions where sneakers just won’t cut it. You wouldn’t wear them to a wedding or a job interview, for example.

Now, let’s talk about heels. If you’re a heels girl, you know that there’s something magical about slipping into a pair of stilettos or sky high platforms. Suddenly, you feel taller, more confident, and ready to take on the world. Heels are the ultimate power accessory, and they can make any outfit look more glamorous. Plus, they’re just plain fun to wear. Who doesn’t love the sound of heels clicking on the pavement?

Of course, there are some downsides to heels as well. For one thing, they’re not always the most practical. If you’re planning on doing a lot of walking or standing, you might want to think twice about wearing heels, unless you have a Carrie Bradshaw skill of wearing heels and looking completely comfortable whether you’re out dancing the night away or running through the streets to hail a taxi. But let’s not forget about the pain factor. We’ve all been there – you wear a pair of heels for a few hours and suddenly your feet feel like they’re on fire. Ouch!

So, where does that leave us? Should you be a sneakers girl or a heels girl? The answer, friends, is that it all depends on the situation. Most importantly though, there’s absolutely no reason why you can’t be both.
